I’ve posted about the disappearing bee crisis before (read Are GMOs the reason bees are diasappearing?) but the topic warrants another visit. From The Examiner, read Disappearing pollinators could trigger global crop crisis. The disappearing pollinator issue is one of the more upsetting to me because it affects SO much of the world’s food directly and no one in power seems to be noticing. It is AS serious as climate change – if not more so.
Is there nothing left on our planet that big business won’t destroy? I feel so out of place in a society that seems to favor profits above all else. I’m not just speaking of Big Agri’s role in colony collapse disorder here… I’m speaking also of Big Oil, Big Food, Big Pharma, – Big Capitalism.
Like many hard-working Americans, I own shares in stocks and mutual funds of big companies that helped build our nation – but lately I am very bothered, very bothered, by what I see as very poor stewardship of both science and resources. In the name of money, must we ultimately destroy the earth and health of all species on it?
