Two major food retailers – Whole Foods and Trader Joes – are saying no thanks to the much maligned genetically engineered salmon dubbed “Frankenfish” (For related articles see: GE Salmon and Then What? and Would You Eat Gray Salmon?).

Genetically engineered salmon, called AquAdvantage, has been modified by the addition of a growth hormone regulating gene from a Pacific Chinook salmon and a promoter from an ocean pout to the Atlantic’s 40,000 genes (From Wikipedia).
