Factory farms are in the news a lot lately. Inhumane treatment of livestock, filthy, unsanitary pens and cages, animals stacked on top of one another, steady diet of GM corn feed instead of what the animal would naturally graze on, etc., all equally as horrific – but the news of the seriousness of antibiotic resistance is a game changer, or should be a game changer of the first order.
In her brief Thinkprogress article titled: How The Meat Industry Is Fueling The Rise Of Drug-Resistant Diseases, author Tara Culp-Ressler exposes what current research is showing about antibiotic resistance.
